Glagol to BE u simple pastu tj. prostom prošlom vremenu za jedninu glasi:

  1. I was
  2. you were
  3. he/she/it was

Za množinu je isti oblik i glasi:

  1. we were
  2. you were
  3. they were

Upitan oblik za jedninu:

  1. Was I?
  2. Were you?
  3. Was he/she/it?

Upitan oblik za množinu je isti i glasi:

  1. Were we?
  2. Were you?
  3. Were they?

Odričan oblik

za jedniu glagola to BE dobija se tako što dodajemo NOT na glagol:

  1. I was not (wasn’t)
  2. You were not (weren’t)
  3. He/she/it was not (wasn’t)

Za množinu oblik je isti i glasi:

  1. We were not (weren’t)
  2. You were not (weren’t)
  3. They were not (weren’t)
