Wish / If only
Wish i If only izražavaju žaljenje zbog sadašnje situacije, prošlih odluka ili želju za promenom nečijeg ponašanja.
Wish + Past Simple
Za nerealnu sadašnjost koristimo wish + Past Simple; često I wish I were…
Past Simple označava suprotnost sadašnjem stanju.
Wish + Past Perfect
Za žaljenje zbog prošlosti koristimo wish + had + past participle.
Prošla situacija i kajanje: had studied.
Wish + would
Wish + would koristimo da izrazimo želju da se nečije ponašanje ili situacija promeni.
Posle wish uz željenu promenu biramo would.
