Cleft konstrukcije naglašavaju jednu informaciju: It was … that/who i What … is/was …
It-cleft: naglašavanje
It + be + naglašeni element + that/who + ostatak rečenice.
Cleft počinje sa It was/is.
What-cleft
What + klauza + be + fokus: What I need is more time.
U What-cleft strukturi sledi kopula is/was.
Emphatic do/does/did
Do, does i did mogu naglasiti istinitost tvrdnje uz osnovni oblik glagola.
Posle emphatic do koristimo osnovni glagol.
